Rohit Sharma had something special to say about his former teammate

India’s Batting sensation Rohit Sharma turned 33 on this Thursday, 30 April. His twitter account was flooded with birthday wishes on his special day. Apart from all his teammates, former batsman Gautam Gambhir joined the celebrations by wishing him on Twitter.

 Gautam Gambhir had dubbed Rohit Sharma as the best white-ball cricketer in the world while wishing him on his birthday. Rohit Sharma is known for his tremendous performance in a limited over match format as he has scored many daddy hundreds and his performance is top-notch for sure.

In his reply, Rohit Sharma said: “Don’t know about that Gauti Bhai. But loving your work.”

Gautam Gambhir’s Journey

Gautam Gambhir’s performance in the 2011 World Cup final against Sri Lanka is unforgettable and is also one of the reasons why India lifted the World Cup after 28 years. Born on 14 October,1981, in New Delhi, Gautam was very much passionate about cricket right from his childhood. He got a chance to play his first-ever international ODI on 11 April,2003 against Bangladesh due to his consistent efforts. Throughout his career, Gautam’s performance has been applauded due to his sincerity and consistency in all formats of cricket. He has also scored more than 10000 runs in International cricket.

Gambhir’s Achievements

He was facilitated with the Arjuna award for cricket in 2009 and was also conferred with the Padma Shri award in 2019 by President Ramnath Kovind. Cricketer-turned-politician Gautam Gambhir was in the news recently due to his kind gesture of performing last rites of his domestic help, whom he used to consider as a member of his family.

Gambhir is now a BJP MP from East Delhi and has helped the state government by donating Rs one crore to the Delhi government for obtaining medical aids for the healthcare workers along with helping in treating patients who are diagnosed with Coronavirus in Delhi.

In addition to this, he has also promised to donate his two year’s salary towards Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM CARES Fund) and also released financial aid of one crore rupees from his MP Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) fund towards relief efforts during the COVID-19 outbreak. He has been winning hearts due to constant efforts for the country in this time of need and is the reason why his former teammates like Rohit Sharma are acknowledging his efforts.
