Cheteshwar Pujara praises Rahul Dravid for his advice.

Rahul Dravid, known as “The Wall” of the Indian cricket, is one of those cricketers who has succeeded at balancing personal and professional life. Cheteshwar Pujara, who is often compared to Dravid, has spoken about how Rahul Dravid has influenced him to have a balanced life. While talking about Dravid, he said that he is thankful to him for teaching the importance of switching off from cricket for a while.

Dravid has taught him to keep both his personal and professional lives separate, which is beneficial for all players. Pujara himself had the same thoughts, but after speaking to the great cricketer, he was convinced that this was the right way. He is now sure and more explicit about the same and has expressed his gratitude for Rahul Dravid. 

Rahul Dravid’s achievements

The former Indian captain is known for keeping a mental fortitude in the game. He has made some records that are still praised by the cricketers. Dravid also had a fantastic international career where he has scored 13288 runs in 164 tests and 10899 runs in ODIs. Rahul has also captained Team India in 79 ODIs, winning 42 of them, including the 14 successive wins while chasing.

Pujara on his comparison with Dravid

Cheteshwar Pujara is often compared with Rahul Dravid because both the players have similar batting techniques. Despite respecting the former captain of the Indian team, Pujara says that he has never tried to copy him. He further said that the similarity comes due to the same thought process that he had learned, which taught him that scoring a 100 alone is not enough; one has to carry his team. 

Pujara also said that Rahul Bhai has always been an inspiration to him and will continue to be. He has learned to take responsibility for the team by increasing the big total and playing for the team. This is something he learned from his junior cricket days, where he used to play for Saurastrata that was considered as a weaker team back them in domestic cricket.
